Welcome to Waubra Primary School
Waubra Primary School is a school with a proud history. It is also acknowledged as a high performing school with strong emphasis on supporting students to achieve their potential.
In 2019, will see the school celebrate its 150th year. The original school was located in Hall st and moved to our current location in 1916. the school is situated in a rural community within commuting distance from the nearest major city, Ballarat.
Waubra Primary School is committed to providing high quality, relevent and rigorous education for all our students so that they become empowered members of an cohesive society. We operate within a strong framework of values and behaviours based on respect, responsibility, excellence and integrity.
Students have the opportunity to participate in a broad range of programs that not only support their classroom programs, but also allow them to enriched experience throughout their years at our school. Our students have access to a range of specialist programs. These include Art, P.E., Music and Japanese.
Learning technologies are an integral part of the classroom program. All students have access to their own nextbook computer and iPad, and all classrooms are fitted with flat screen TVs connected to an Apple TV.
The school provides Reading Tutor Program and MacqLIT Program for students requiring additional assistance.
The original school building houses the administration area, a music room, a double sized open classroom with a withdrawal computer room and a staff room. Our state of the art Learning Centre houses a large open ‘multi-purpose’ learning space where we hold our assemblies and three modern classrooms all fitted out with modern furniture and flat screen TVs. Our other learning space is our fabulous Art and Indoor Recreation Centre which features a carpeted area big enough to hold indoor sport and an Art room.
All classrooms are fitted with air conditioners and excellent heating to make sure our students are able to work comfortably all year round.
