Mullawallah’s proper name was Frank Wilson. Since his death in September 1896 Mullawallah had been known only as King Billy, William Wilson or Frank. King Billy’s seat is located over the road of Waubra Primary School on the top of a hill where two dead trees are standing. King Billy sat in that very spot to watch out over the land and what a sight it would have been! Frank Wilson was one of at least three men in the Ballarat region that were given the title King Billy by European settlers.
