The Visual Arts program at Waubra Primary School aims to provide students with the skills, techniques and processes needed to design and create a wide variety of artworks. In the weekly, one hour lesson, students are encouraged to express their ideas, observations and imagination through their creations. Activities are designed to build upon the students' skills and knowledge and their appreciation of art. Students have the opportunity to work individually and on group projects. They are encouraged to share and discuss their own work and that of their peers. Through a variety of activities such as drawing, painting, model making, textiles, construction and Art appreciation students create art work whilst building their knowledge of the elements of Art - colour, line, shape, form, pattern, tone and texture.
Students' artwork is displayed in a variety of locations around the school.
